The Asian Diabetes Prevention Initiative is a joint initiative of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and National University of Singapore Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. The website contains evidence-based information for individuals, families, communities, and medical professionals about how a healthy diet and lifestyle can prevent type 2 diabetes. Currently, 60% of the world's diabetics are Asian, and Asians are predisposed to having a higher risk for type 2 diabetes than other populations, even at a lower weight. However, the large majority of cases of type 2 diabetes can be prevented through a healthy lifestyle.
