Shulan College was founded in Manchester in 1993 by professor Shulan Tang who decided that helping people with acupuncture and Chinese medicines wasn't enough, she wanted to create a learning centre so that other people could learn the natural remedies she had used her entire life. The college initially began with an acupuncture course, but as popularity improved many students voiced their opinion for us to hire new tutors with more advanced skills.. So we did! As of 2016 the college offers a plethora of Chinese medicine courses including Tuina, Qigong, Herbal Medicine, Traditional Chinese Theory, and hosts many continual professional development classes for tutors to improve their skills even after graduating. We have partnerships and accreditation from many Chinese medical article/journal sites, and many of our practitioners are from highly educated backgrounds in China where they have practiced Chinese medicine their entire lives.
